Pearl (2022)
Directed by Ti West
I love this movie a lot, it's one of my personal favorites. I loved Pearl's character and the way Mia Goth, an amazing actress, portrayed her emotions so raw and gorgeous. I relate to her character a lots and everything about this movie is astonishing, the vibes, the costumes, the actors, everything pleased me !!

Coraline
Directed by Henry Selick
Coraline is, for sure, my comfort movie. I find comfort in the story, the characters, the whimsy spooky aesthetic and, most in Coraline. I love the animation style, it being my personal favorite, and Hnery Selick for use captivated the story really good. I first heard about Coraline when I bought the book. While my classmates looked at colorful books or comics, Coraline really captivated my attention, the attention of a 3rd grader. Years later I watched the movie and re read the book and since then I have loved this movie with all my heart.

The pope's exorcist
Directed by Julius Avery
Personally, this is one of the only religios movies I actually like. I am saying this because this movie didn't make religion seem bad and evil but really showed that in order to be forgiven and to let go of the demons (or the problems in your life) you need to first accept what you've done and regret and forgive yourself first. I think it was beautiful and Russel Crowe did a wonderfull job in his role as the pope !!

Capra cu 3 iezi
Directed by Victor Canache
The movie title translates to ''the goat and it's 3 kids'' I think. It's a horror movie inspired by one of Romania's most known childhood story which was written by Ion Creanga, a famous Romanian author. The movie was breathtaking, I really didn't expect such talent and deep emotions from a romanian movie. Maia Morgenstein and Marius Bodochi did an incredible job, both displayed such talent that really impressed me and made me want to watch more of the movies they featured in !!

Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind
Directed by Michel Gondry
I was at loss of words after I watched this movie. I initially thought it would be a romance movie like any other, which I'm not the biggest fan of...But I was pleased when I watched it. Especially since I was struggling in my relationship at that time, it was so refreshing to watch it and it made me shed a tear or two. It's a movie that makes you think a little after watching it and honestly, it's my favorite type of movies. I recommend it, but definately not if you're going through a break up or a hard time in your relation ship like I was.

10 things I hate about you
Directed by Gil Junger
10 things I hate about you is the first romance movie that really moved me. I usually avoid romance movies since they aren't really my time but Gil Junger's movie really made me cry a little. I didn't like their trope at first, not a big fan of that either, but I really liked how they grew to like each other because of a guy that was inlove with Kat's sister. This movie showed me that you can appreciate a movie that isn't specifically what you are used to if it's done good and with much care.

The Addams family values
Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld
And, of course, like any other girl, I will say I have at least one Addams family movie as one of my favorites. For me, the relatinship between Wednesday and Joel really grew on me. I loved every bit of it and thought they were perfect for each other, minis Morticia and Gomez. It would have been absolutely the best option if they added him instead of Tyler and skip over the love triangle that she is involved in, but I also understand Burton's choice, since he tries to portray Wednesday with somehow usual teenager problems.

Elvira Mistress of the dark
Directed by James Signorelli
Well, I cannot lie, Elvira is the goth icon which made me fall inlove with the subculture and make me think ''I want to be just like her''....which is kind of worrying since I watched this movie when I was around 11 or 12. I won't say that the oversexualization of Elvira was the best part of the movie but it was pretty usual in the 1980s...I liked the movie because of it's aesthetic, funny moments and random scenes !!

Miss Peregrine's home of peculiar children
Directed by Tim Burton
And of course, this list couldn't exist without a movie directed by Tim Burton himself, one of my personal favorites. To be honest, I have many other movies I love that were directed by him like Sweeny Tod, or written by him like The nightmare before Christmas, but I choose this one because I also wish to read the book. I think Burton captured some of the book's scenes in his own way that screams ''I'm a Burtonesque masterpiece !!'' I will update my blog after I read the book and maybe this review aswell.

Sweeney Todd: the demon barber of fleet street
Directed by Tim Burton
Even though I like many musicals, more then Sweeney Todd the musical, it's still one of my favortie musical movies. The aesthetic, the characters, the interpretation, I like it all. I am outing myself that I first thought Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett were actually in love with each other...but now I have healed from this !! I think this movie, besides the Harry Potter ones, made me fall in love with Helena Bonham Carter. I love her so much as an actress and her voice is reallyyyyy soothing. In a few words, this movie is made me feel like a dame in the 1840s.
